Hu, The Impact of Us.

I told myself I wasn't going to blog today and that I would mull things over and get a plan set out before I posted this.
but with the help of  some negative thoughts, provoking art, a couple Smirnoffs, and being bored at 1 A.M. what the hey why not.

The Dow Chemical company put out an Ad if you haven't seen it, quickly before reading this, give it a glance.

There are several problems with Humans in general. Humans fail to mesh with any aspect of nature, society, and religious law. Before I can even go into those problems the Human body is a flawed system. My reasoning behind this is our lack of efficiency. For a second lets consider you went into a dark room and wanted to turn on the light, the light refused to come on saying it was tired... This is exactly how the Human body works, at best we need 1/3 of our time to be completely inactive to reboot our internal system. If you get an average of 8 hrs. per night combined with the average life span in US is 77.8 years, meaning you spend 25.9 years asleep. Research also supports that you forget 90% of your dreams after being awake for 10 minutes. Should you some how remember all of your dreams at 90% you would only have 2.5 years of memories, not a fair trade in my eyes. I've always wanted to develop insomnia to get an idea of what it was like to be Da Vinci who trained himself to sleep only in two hour shifts throughout the day to maximize his performance. Now that the basics fault of the Human body has been explained. lets move onto our impact with our families and communities

Society:
Humans can't get along. To all of the Lets-end-world-hunger,-and-make-peace-supporters, more power to you, but know it's useless. Reasoning behind this is because we are born seeking space. territory is a born trait that we all must have. we've all had those days where we feel underwater and need to escape and get out of our norm. granted our territory can shrink and grow according to our up bringing. and with a limited amount of space on the Earth, we as humans will fight, buy, or steal or territory in order to secure our personal feelings of contentment. Fighting, Buying, and Stealing are all aggressive forms of trade. there are some that say "we can trade, or give to them instead". (paraphrased)  they are idiots. trading would mean that we would give something up which is contrary to what our mind wants which is everything, that thought process lead to the word greed, a fun word. I'm not even going to go into giving, because again it's counter productive to our nature. Now for families, families can't get along because both alpha units are expecting the other to give into their life style, leaving the pair at an impasse. children are even worse. they have no input yet cipher the supplies of the family and when they are able to contribute to the family, it's been deemed by our society that they are adults and it's time for them to move out and start their own lives. lets recap. our society is backwards. everything we promote is counter productive, examples are the institution of the family, charity, and corporate america. why then do we act this way. i'll get to that, but first...

Nature:
Human's impact on the Earth is greater than all other creatures combined throughout all time, thus far. The Partula Rosea Snail needs only 10 square ft to survive, not one single snail but their entire population, yet the last remaining 200 are in a Zoo as an effort to save them. why are there so few, Humans. matter a fact, look at any example of a dying species and at the core you will see human impact. Tigers hunted for fur, elephants for ivory, bees because they sting you. those are just three, and the list for the endangered species is more than 50,000.. I explain all of that to say this, our lack of seeing the natural world in the way it curves, grows, changes, dies, and is reborn, has led us to build entire cities that contradict the flow on our own planet. I don't know of any other species that is so self destructive as ours. instead of cutting down trees, why not integrate entire communities into forests, learning it's habitat, and working with the natural flow of nature. We call things like tsunamis, and Earthquakes disasters, when in fact they are the Earth normally, not random occurrences or bad luck. working with the natural landscape can prevent a lot of lose durning these feats of strength the Earth puts out. Why again do we as Humans do this? try to defy nature. I'll explain later, But first.

Religion:
Humans are selfish. look at all most any form of religion and you will see a desire for self rewarding. christians ask yourself this, if God had not promised or even mentioned a Heaven and said you will all suffer Hell forever. what then? would you still carryout your commandments? or do you behave in such a way only because you see a deposit in your account worth one eternal life, of pleasure. Humans are selfish, they want, and want, and want. ask a homeless man what he wants, money. ask a man who has money what he wants, happiness. ask a mediocre man what he wants, the new iPhone. no one will say, to be closer with God, why? cause we all can be closer to God therefore it loses it's appeal. you don't know what you had till you lose it, I'm glad God gives second chances, because if it didn't we wouldn't have even made it out of the garden before he wiped us off the chats for good. rather every person all 7 billion of us are uniquely crafted and looked after, for what. to be replaced by an idol, someone else getting the glory. our times may not have gold calves but we have facebook, TV, self pride, and envy. why can't we simply devote our lives to the one who had the power to give us life in the first place?

Human Error:
It's the number one cause of plane crashes, and everything else in our lives. Humans are not able to make a single perfect thing, nothing. When looking at plans for a... lets say a lightbulb, you have a thing called tolerance. it's the degree in which you need to get the accuracy correct. if it says you can't be more that plus or minus .3 degrees off on the roundness of glass bulb than you can't be more than .3 degrees off. Human Error is why we can't be exact every single time. as humans we try to cover our tracks by adding new words to describe Human Error my favorite is probability. To me it means we can't get it right every time so we just put the number of times we got the correct answer and throw a ten under it. matter a fact put that in the commercial too... consumers will love that fun fact.

Human Creativity:
However we have been blessed with minds that are able to connect, and emphize with anything possible, it's why we have animals, it's why we smile, it's why we sing. across the world Artists have taken a step back from this world and looked at the Human race as a timeline, seeing both our beginning, present, and future. many of the work below has been inspired first by nature, or feelings, then secondly designed so that the human element interacts with it, instead of destroying it.

Look how the home takes on the features of it's surroundings, not conflicting with nature.

The designer didn't care about plants over growing the house, because overgrowth is a sign of acceptance. He didn't include a yard, that was void of natural life, and a thing called grass.

After designing how it interacts with nature, the designer finds space for humans and make it more appealing than houses we have now, because the room has the natural energy of the forest embedded in the design of the building.

This Artist created concrete molds of real people.

The Artist then has them placed under water where corral will settle on them making his artwork a rebuilt habit for millions of fish, and other sea creatures. supporting life, and encouraging interaction will the animals of the Earth.

As you can see this is not something that takes hundreds of years to occur. the immediate benefits makes this one of my favorite pieces.

This is  an Artist who brings life to humans trash and one day want's to fill the beaches with his creatures.

In closing I have this to say, although Humans are the sole reason for everything bad in every aspect of life, though creativity and emotional connections we are the able to balance the good and the bad, and look towards the future where there is not urban and rural, or forest land and developed land, and even blending of poor, and rich where our compassion battles are inner instinct and shows mercy on those who daily go without.

Cautiously Optimistic,

Kyle

Loaf of Bread: Six Dollars

Today as someone exited from Radio Shack they said" hua hua I just farted." This someone was none other than a middle aged man dressed in his suit. classy sir, just classy.

should have just gave me the bird

When I was in High School we had those really lame "career assessment tests" they tested in you in five categories: math, science, reading, english, and mechanical comprehension. at the end of these tests there was also a 60 question survey that helped "characterize" each person. The main goal behind these tests are to help students find out what subjects are their strong suits and possible careers with those subjects at the core. Most of the students in my class didn't take the test serious, I was not one of them, I wanted to find out exactly what I was good at and where I was waiting my time. The day the test came I read the questions to a T, answered to the best of my ability, and waiting patiently for the next section.
The next month I waited for my results to come in. Finally durning my science class our school councilor came in and passed them back. I remember that she passed them back in reverse alphabetical order, almost as a way of torturing me. I could see everyone's faces and start to hear the dull roar as everyone was excited and comparing results. finally she called my name and I went to receive mine. I looked at the  piece of paper and looked for my score. they were on a scale of Poor, Below Average, Average, Good, and Great. my scores were as follows.

Math: Good
Science: Good
Reading: Good
English: Good
Mechanical Comprehension: Good

Below the scores was a map that placed you in a sector based on your scores. I was in the middle, sector G. In sector G there was no career and it was in the dead center, almost as if they computer that graded all of the scantrons didn't know where to place me. I was the only one to get that placement in my class.

I explain all of that to say this, being good at everything means you're not great at anything.

While enrolled in a sociology class at ECU my professor told me this: Specialization is the only way for a society to grow, one most make more than he/she has and sell the excess to another individual who can't make enough for him/herself.

Because I'm not great at anything i will always be the one buying from someone who is great at it. at first i thought this was all wishy washy theory. I started thinking, what have I ever done that I was great at...
I have a very small list.

1) I believe I'm the only one who can tell you how to solve a rubiks cube over the phone.

2) I can lie better than all my friends.

Ta Duh! Those are the only two things I'm great at. So for all those who were blessed with the ability to be great at things and bad at others, we who are good at all things, toast to your fortune.

Before I go. This is the Christmas season. My youth pastor has always been the kindest person to me and i really want to get him something, but I don't know his address so I'll have to give it to him as a late Christmas present, maybe even a surprise. but this is the T-Shirt I want to get him, I think it's great because he's really into the coen brothers and hot rod kinda humor. I hope he likes it!

Let's Blow This Shindigg

I am looking forward to the end of this year.

I haven't been entirely honest with my friends and family this year, but that's okay because I don't plan on keeping these lies up, matter a fact this is my "confessions" edition.

List of Grievances:

(1)
Explanation: To fully understand number one you must first understand the lie behind it. One day in the student center, I had a cold sore, just a simple cold sore from stress. someone jokingly says "Kyle, did you get that from a girl?" the gears in my head start turning I say "yes". I then go on to explain that made out with a girl from UCO and that she was the third one that week and that I had reached my quota. word of this three a week quota hit the fan! next thing i know everyone is asking me about it. I continue to lie. so here is the truth.

Truth: I have not  kissed a girl this year at all, not one, for all of those who swallowed up my lie about my life i am sorry.

(2)
Explanation: When I was 10 I chipped a tooth, one tooth. I chipped it when I was trying to change the stuffing in my hamster cage which was on a shelf. our hamster had a habit of getting out so we had a weight on the top of the cage to keep it in the cage. i didn't take the weight off and it fell right on my face and broke my huge, at the time, tooth.  I had that tooth fixed, it was my front tooth and was very embarrassing while it was chipped and I was glad to get it fixed. I believe it was the summer of my junior year, I told someone about it, they said I'm surprised you only broke one tooth." what a good idea I thought, I am lucky to be alive, but the story did need some spicing up. so I lied to spice it up a bit.

Truth: I have one chipped tooth and the story is funny, but only one is chipped.

(3)
Explanation: There is a lot of pressure at a christian school to be perfect, as if that were even possible. combine that pressure with very strong conservatives, whose opinions are anything but the truth, and you have difficult situations at hand. I've kissed girls, and boys. Give me a girl any day of the week and I'll love you forever! Girls get my pants in a jive. for some reason our society has condemned an experimentation with a lifestyle, cruel but true. and for everyone who can't seem to understand spoken words let's try typed, I'm not Gay.

Truth: I have kissed a boy and I didn't like it.

(4)
Explanation: I do not like mega churches or churches that I feel like are using their money in the wrong way. This semester I haven't been to church once. I don't have quite time to make up for it and I don't feel bad about it. God has blessed me with a sense of independence. I plan to use it. I think God is around us not confined to a building or space. Do I think it is required for us as Christians to attend church. NO! I don't.

Truth: I haven't been to church, and God still loves me.

(5)
Explanation: I work at radio shack, and I love interacting with people. however I also have a love for fantasy, vampires, werewolves, magic, love. all the things you find in great books. Last year I purchased a pair of vampire fangs, they are legit, I love them. I wear them to work, every time, I have also convinced my Co-Workers that they are real. Today I have them believed that I went to the dentist to get them filed down. why lie? cause people think it's weird to wear them, honestly I don't. I find it cool. so suck on that!

Truth: I wear my Vampire fangs when I can.
